We are seeking a junior Copyright & Licensing Specialist who is fluent in German (both written and oral) and English. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring successful cooperation with our German-based clients. This role involves processing third-party requests for our music catalogues and ensuring compliance with German and UK copyright laws. This is an exciting position for someone with a particular interest in music copyright and printed music publishing. We will welcome applications from recent graduates with a degree in Music, Music Business, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Incoming German Third-Party Requests:
- Manage and process print requests from third parties within Germany.
- Ensure all requests comply with relevant copyright and licensing regulations.
- Communicate effectively with requesters to clarify and confirm details.
- Assist with Processing UK, Other European, and U.S. Requests:
- Provide support in handling print requests from the UK, other European countries, and the U.S.
- Collaborate with relevant teams or departments to ensure smooth processing across different regions.
- Maintain accurate records of requests and their status across all regions.
- Support the European Copyright & Licensing Manager and U.S. Office:
- Assist with various departmental tasks as directed by the European Copyright & Licensing Manager.
- Collaborate with the U.S. office to support their needs in relation to copyright and licensing.
- Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the efficient functioning of the department.
Required experience and skills:
- A degree-level qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in music, music business or another relevant subject
- A passion for music and music making with a demonstrable interest particularly in printed music
- Ability to learn quickly and juggle multiple task
- Able to work well under pressure while maintaining a keen eye for detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment as a team player
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Fluent in German - the successful candidate will need to have excellent German and English communication skills (both oral and written).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office
