We’re looking for an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our Finance team and help keep our financial operations running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented, organized, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and ensure appropriate authorisation in line with company policy.
  • Prepare supplier payment runs (BACS, CHAPS, international payments, SEPA) according to agreed terms.
  • Maintain supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payment queries promptly.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Open and maintain vendor cards in the ERP system.
  • Verify supplier IBAN details via phone call for all new suppliers and whenever bank details change.
  • Post and reconcile daily bank statements.
  • Issue licensing invoices and process licensors’ statements where required.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Allocate customer receipts to invoices and ensure sales ledgers are kept fully up to date.
  • Issue Direct Debits for customers who have selected this payment method.
  • For new customers, perform credit checks via Credit Safe and verify VAT registration for EU cross-border trading using VIES.
  • Open and maintain customer cards in the ERP system.
  • Monitor customer accounts for overdue balances and follow up outstanding debts.
  • Support credit control activities while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Reconcile customer statements and resolve any payment or invoicing discrepancies.
  • Post and reconcile daily bank statements.

Finance OP’s Team Support

  • Cross-team covering.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Op's Manager.

General Finance Support

  • Support Finance Team with audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of AP & AR processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Procurement, Sales, Operations) to resolve billing or payment issues.

Required experience

  • Dutch speaking
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Navision , Coupa, NetSuite , or similar).
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple deadlines.
  • Professional, proactive, and reliable.

  • Continuous improvement mindset, with an eye for process efficiency.
