Licensing & Publishing Business Development Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven music licensing professional to join our Licensing team and lead business development across music licensing and publishing partnerships. This role will identify, negotiate, and execute strategic deals that expand the reach and monetization of our catalog across digital platforms, educational products, media, and emerging technologies. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of music publishing, digital services, and business development, helping shape the future of licensing across our global platforms.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new licensing opportunities across digital platforms, apps, education providers, and media companies
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners and drive ongoing performance
  • Evaluate inbound partnership proposals and prioritize based on strategic and financial impact
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline for new licensing opportunities
  • Develop and implement standardized licensing frameworks for digital services
  • Draft, negotiate, and review music licenses with publishers, performance rights organizations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Copyright and Royalties teams to address inbound queries and ensure efficient rights clearances
  • Required experience

  • 5+ years experience in music licensing, publishing, or business development
  • Strong understanding of music rights 
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing commercial deals
  • Analytical mindset with experience in financial modeling
  • Established relationships with music publishers and performance rights organizations 
  • Strong understanding of music licensing principles and practices
  • Up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of the music industry and digital rights landscape
  • Experience in music tech, edtech, print music publishing, or subscription platforms a plus 
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively drive projects forward
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
