QA Engineer
We’re looking for a QA Engineer who combines strong manual testing expertise with hands-on automation skills to help us ensure high product quality across web and mobile platforms. In this role, you’ll work on A/B experiments, releases, and core product features, taking ownership of testing processes end-to-end — from designing test scenarios to building and scaling automation infrastructure.
You won’t just execute tests — you’ll help define testing strategy, prioritize quality efforts, and make decisions about tools and frameworks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment, where quality directly impacts product metrics. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and support teams to ensure that new features are delivered reliably and existing functionality remains stable — even under constant change.
Key responsibilities
Manual Testing
- Develop and maintain test cases, scenarios for web and mobile
- Setup test environment
- Manual testing of A/B experiments and releases
- Bug reporting, fix validation
Test Automation
- Develop and maintain E2E automated tests for web (JS, TS, Playwright) and mobile applications (React Native / Detox)
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Evolve and maintain existing test infrastructure
Test Strategy & Test Prioritization
- Define automation strategy: what to automate, at which level (unit / integration / E2E), and in what order
- Select and implement tools and frameworks — make tooling decisions independently
- Monitor and improve test stability, investigate flaky tests
Quality management
- Work together with support team in order to identify, prioritise and implement requests and bug fixes
Required experience
- 3+ years of experience in manual testing and test automation for mobile and web applications
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks — understanding how feature flags and experiments affect test scenarios, ability to write tests that account for multiple variants
- Deep knowledge of test design techniques and strong ability to prioritise testing activities
- Test environment setup & configuration — hands-on experience getting E2E tests to run in non-trivial build pipelines. Mobile: test app variants, signing certificates, simulators. Web: headless browsers in CI, cross-browser setup. Real-world experience wiring E2E tests into build pipelines where things don't "just work" is essential.
- JavaScript/TypeScript as the primary automation language (the entire stack is JS-based: React, React Native, Detox)
- Detox or Appium — experience with mobile E2E testing. Detox is a strong plus since we already have infrastructure built on it
- Playwright or Cypress — web E2E testing experience
- CI/CD — experience integrating tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins)
- Git — confident with branching, pull requests, and code reviews
- Analytics event testing — experience validating analytics instrumentation: verifying that events are developed correctly, payloads match the expected schema, and events are delivered to analytics endpoints
- Ability to make independent decisions on test architecture
Nice to Have
- Understanding of React Native at the level of "can read app code to write proper selectors/locators"
- Experience with visual regression testing (Percy, Chromatic, or custom solutions)
- Experience with React Testing Library / Jest for unit/integration component testing
- Experience mentoring or training other engineers
- REST API test automation (Postman/Newman, Supertest, or similar)
