Audio.com Surpasses 20 Million Users Worldwide

Press Releases

The platform's community now has more than a million independent creators, with electronic music as the top genre

Audio.com, a cloud-powered audio platform by Muse Group, has reached a milestone of 20 million registered uploaders and listeners since its first public sign up in September 2022. Built for creators who work with sound – musicians, podcasters, voice-over artists, audio engineers, and content creators – the platform combines audio hosting, cloud project storage, AI-powered audio tools, and discovery layer for listeners.

The platform's reach now extends to 190 countries and territories, led by the US, India and Brazil as its top markets.

Deep integration with Audacity 4, the latest version of the world's most popular audio editor, enables a seamless workflow from recording and editing through to publishing. Since June 2024, 1.7 million Audacity users have linked their accounts to Audio.com.

"Reaching 20 million registered users is a major milestone for us. Today, Audio.com is one of the fastest-growing platforms in our ecosystem for creators, musicians and storytellers. In a streaming dominated landscape, it's exciting to see Audio.com carve out its own space and keep growing," says Evgeniy Romanov, Head of Product at Audio.com

What are over 1 million creators making?

In its first four years, Audio.com has grown to more than 1 million creators who upload, store and share audio content on the platform. Together, they have uploaded nearly 4 million tracks, amounting to a combined 59.5 years of audio.

Most creators – defined as anyone who has uploaded at least one file – come from the same top three markets: the US, India and Brazil. Music, including covers and beats, accounts for 42% of all content uploaded to Audio.com. The second-largest category is spoken word, covering podcasts, voice-overs and audiobooks.

Usage extends well beyond three-minute songs: uploads range from sleep sounds and extended DJ sets to short sound effects and voice clips. The longest public upload runs 48 hours, while 634,000 files are shorter than 30 seconds.

Electronic music beats rock

In 2026, electronic music has so far been the most popular genre among creators, accounting for 32% of shared tracks, followed by rock (13%) and hip hop (10%). Looking at genre trends by country, electronic music ranks first in all 23 countries analyzed, ahead of rock in every case.

Rock holds second place in 15 of those countries, mostly across North America and Europe, while pop takes the second spot in East and Southeast Asia. India is the only country where Stage & screen music ranks second, accounting for 24% of uploaded content.

Hip hop ranks third in most countries, with a notable exception in Japan, where 12% of uploaded tracks are classical pieces. In four countries – Spain, Argentina, Nigeria and South Korea – the third most popular category is non-music content, suggesting creators there are more focused on podcasts and voice-overs.

Tools creators use

In 2025, Audio.com introduced a suite of AI-powered tools to help creators produce and edit content. Since launch, 248,000 AI tasks have been completed on the platform, with the vocal remover, stem splitter and vocal extractor the most widely used features.

In addition, creators often use an AI instrumental extractor that reduces the lead vocal and creates a backing track for rehearsal, music lessons or authorized remixes. Another AI-powered speech to text feature lets creators effortlessly repurpose content for blogs, social media, and more.
