We’re looking for a Royalty Accountant to play a key role in preparing, processing, and distributing royalty statements, ensuring accurate payments to publishers and maintaining compliance with licensing agreements.
This role will be interesting for those who are eager to gain new experience and grow professionally. Work format:
- Full-time, onsite position based in Winona, MN.
- Hybrid format - expected in-office presence at least two days per week.

- Prepare and assist with distributing Royalty Statements.
- Update publisher / writer contact inforamtion.
- Obtain tax forms and payment details from publishers and writers.
- Assist with Sublicense accountings.
- Coordinate the mailing of royalty statements with various teams in Winona office.
- Register Hal Leonard works with the U.S. Copyright Office.
- Provide administrative support to the U.S. Royalty Team.
- Setup new product in AS400.
- Work closely with the department head, contributing to ongoing projects and additional responsibilities as needed
- Collaborate closely with the VP of Business Affairs and senior department leaders to align on priorities, gain strategic guidance, and support key cross-functional initiatives.
- Business, accounting or administrative degree or related field or comparable work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years administrative/customer service related work experience.
- Experience in Excel.
- Fluent in English speaking.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment and willingness to learn new skills is required.
- Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills and be a self-starter.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will be conversing with various levels within the company.
Nice to have:
- Prior royalty experience a plus, but not necessary.
- Knowledge of U.S. based licensing terms, but not necessary.
- Knowledge of contracts and/or legal background preferred but not necessary.
