MuseScore Studio is looking for an Engraving Specialist and QA Engineer combined in one role to help shape the future of our notation engine and ensure world-class engraving quality across the product. This position is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of professional music engraving standards and experience in software development. This is a fully remote role, and you can work from any location.

Salary expectations will be discussed prior to the technical interview stage.

- Perform detailed quality checks on all engraving-related PRs.
- Support the MuseScore Studio QA team through routine smoke testing on Mac, Windows and Linux, to uphold high-quality engraving and notation behaviour.
- Collaborate with other internal teams to gather requirements and prepare specifications and design briefs for upcoming engraving-related features.
- Provide expert guidance on engraving appearance and notation conventions – especially for contemporary classical music – and recommend new features and improvements.
- Write engraving-specific release notes and user documentation for each release.
- Expertise in music notation and professional engraving and publishing standards across a wide range of musical styles
- A minimum tertiary qualification in music.
- Development experience is highly preferred
- English: Fluent
