Vacancy Description:

Muse Group empowers music makers. We create the world’s most popular apps for playing, recording, and composing music. Through our innovative learning tools, expansive music catalogs, and free open-source software, we make it easier for millions of people — from beginners to experienced musicians — to be creative every day.

Our talented team of music lovers works across the globe, from Limassol to Seoul and Boston to Berlin. We’re an ambitious company with the drive and culture of a startup, with many more exciting Muse Group developments to come.

Ultimate Guitar is the largest community and the most popular platform where musicians can find and play their favorite songs. Together with millions of users, we use it daily to enjoy the music we love. Now, we're looking for a talented designer to join our team.

As a Product Designer at MuseScore Product Team, you'll play a key role in shaping the user experience of one of the world’s most popular music platforms. You'll work closely with product managers, developers, and researchers to design intuitive, engaging, and accessible features that bring value to millions of musicians around the globe.

You won't hear water cooler chat about the weather here at Muse, here we are rating our favorite Prince albums and discussing Japanese punk.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design mobile-first experiences across music discovery, playback, and practice tools
  • Own the full design process — from research and concept to polished UI and handoff
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect designs for iOS, Android, and mobile web
  • Translate product ideas into seamless user experiences in collaboration with PMs and developers
  • Design A/B test variations to improve key metrics like conversion and engagement
  • Partner closely with mobile engineers to ensure smooth, high-quality implementation
Required Experience:
  • 5+ years of product design experience, with 3+ years focused on mobile
  • A strong portfolio of shipped mobile products, ideally in media, music, or content-rich apps
  • Expertise designing for iOS, Android, and mobile web platforms
  • Deep understanding of mobile UX patterns, microinteractions, and visual hierarchy
  • Mastery of Figma and modern design workflows
  • Experience working with data and metrics to iterate and improve designs
  • Skilled at simplifying complex user flows and information architecture
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked on music apps or with audio/notation content
  • English level: Upper-Intermediate

Highly expected

  • A personal connection to music — whether you play an instrument, sing, or compose, your musical intuition will enrich the design process
  • Experience reading sheet music and playing from scores is highly expected — it allows you to better understand our users' mindset and create more intuitive, relevant experiences
  • Familiarity with music learning or practice apps (like MuseScore, Ultimate Guitar, or similar) is a strong advantage

Radical responsibility means taking personal accountability for every aspect of personal and team work, including problems and their solutions. It shifts focus from "we" to "I," where I take full responsibility for the result without blaming external circumstances or other people.
